I take this opportunity to familiarise the Civil Engineering Department of our Institute. The Civil Engineering Department was established in 1991 along with the inception of the Institute and has been playing a key role in transforming the vision of the Institute into reality. The Department has taken a very positive and active role for the last two decades.
The syllabus of the Civil Engineering Department has been designed by West Bengal State Council of Technical Education in such a way that, a student after passing out, can immediately become useful as a construction engineer / entrepreneur and fulfils the demand of construction industry. As an out put our so many pass out students are working in Central, State Govt. and Different prestigious industries like L&T, Gammon, Simplex, Sapoorji & Paloonji, Afcons Ltd. NCC etc. Moreover most of the Nirman Sahayak working in Purba Medinipur District under P&RD, Govt. of West Bengal passed out from our institution.
The Department has developed highly equipped laboratories in the areas of i) Structural Engineering, ii) Concrete Technology, iii) Geotechnical Engineering , iv) Environmental Engineering and v) Material Laboratory.
In addition to the above the Department at present possesses i) latest Survey Instruments, ii) very good Computer facility including latest software on CADD. For the last few years the thrust was towards the building up of the infrastructures of the Department. From now and onwards the thrust will be towards advancement and sophistication. Our aim will always be to ensure that present and future students will enjoy all facilities that one would get at any other Institute of National repute.
